The movie is about a Brazilian boy of Japanese descent, who comes to Japan because his parents want to work and live in a goldfish-breeding town in the country. The boy is treated harshly by his classmates at school, and wants to return to Brazil. One day, however, he discovers goldfish shining in blue in an ancient tomb. He strives to makes this mystery clear, together with Hanako, a girl classmate whose father engages in goldfish breeding. The boy and girl protect the goldfish with all their might, as the mayor of the town and other adults try to profit from them. A now forgotten legend on goldfish triggers a miracle in the town. The girl's father in this story is modeled after Teruya Shimada, Representative of Yamato Kingyoen.
